PARKERSBURG — Groups of volunteers throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley mobilized Thursday as part of the United Way’s annual Day of Action.

This marked the third year of the program, which seeks to complete public service projects throughout the area on the longest day of the year.

More than 250 volunteers representing dozens of companies and organizations pitched in to do work at locations throughout Wood and Washington counties, including at schools and non-profit agencies.
