West Virginia DOH projects mean upcoming road closures

PARKERSBURG — The West Virginia Division of Highways recently announced the following upcoming road closures and delays:

* There will be delays on West Virginia 14, Williams Highway at Henderson Avenue, milepost 25.7, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday for removal of hazardous trees.

Delays of up to 15 minutes are expected. Flagging personnel will be present to maintain traffic flow.

* There will be single lane closures on Interstate 79, across the Amma Big Sandy Bridges, north- and southbound, Roane County Route 29, Big Sandy Creek Overpass Bridges and Wallback Interchange Bridges, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge inspections. This will result in single-lane closures on Roane County 29, Big Sandy Creek and I-79 northbound and southbound, at milepost 25.79 and 29.41, and on West Virginia 36. Flagging personnel will be utilized to maintain two-way traffic.

* There will be a temporary ramp closure on Interstate 77 at the West Virginia 47 northbound off ramp for a concrete curb replacement between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.from Wednesday, July 16, through the end of July.

Motorists are asked to plan accordingly, reduce their speed and follow the direction of all traffic control devices. Inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances could change the work schedule.
