Parkersburg & Wood County Public Library to host Women’s History Month panel

PARKERSBURG — An observance of Women’s History Month is planned for Wednesday featuring five Mid-Ohio Valley leaders from different sectors of the community.
Panelists at the event, scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Parkersburg & Wood County Public Library, 3100 Emerson Ave., are:
* Torie Jackson, president of West Virginia University at Parkersburg
* Dr. Amelia McPeak, medical director of the Behavioral Health Unit at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center
* Katherine Warden, chief of the Marietta Police Department
* Christina Myer, executive editor of The Parkersburg News and Sentinel and The Marietta Times
* Susan Abdella, mayor of Belpre
Each will speak about the beginnings and development of their careers, challenges and accomplishments in their positions and how their work is shaping the future of the Mid-Ohio Valley. The panel will be followed by a time for questions and answers from the public.
The event is organized by Parkersburg City Council members Wendy Tuck and Zak Huffman.
