Picture This: Section of downtown Parkersburg street still closed to traffic

A portion of Market Street remained closed Monday after Parkersburg City Councilman Zak Huffman said a traffic light was damaged in an accident following a police pursuit last week. Huffman said the West Virginia Division of Highways is expected to repair it this week. On Dec. 29, two Michigan men were arrested and one Parkersburg Police officer was injured following a car chase that ended with a cruiser striking the former Jimmy John’s building on Market Street. The officer involved in the crash was transported by ambulance to a local medical facility for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries where he was treated and released.
