MARIETTA — Armory Square Inc. will hold an installation ceremony for new bricks in the Veterans Walk of Honor at noon Saturday at the Armory, 241 Front St., Marietta.

The walk honors the brave men and women who have served in America’s armed forces with engraved memorial bricks.

The public is invited to join the ceremony, which will include remarks from Darren Shearlock, executive director of the Washington County Veterans Service Commission. Shearlock will discuss the importance of honoring veterans’ legacies and the significance of Armory Square as a community gathering place for remembrance and reflection.

The Veterans Walk of Honor is a project led by Armory Square Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the historic Armory. Each engraved brick provides a personal memorial to a veteran.

“We are proud to dedicate this space to our veterans,” said Jan Powell, a representative from Armory Square Inc. “The Veterans Walk of Honor not only remembers their service but also strengthens our community’s ties to its history and shared values.”

More information about the event and ways to support Armory Square is available at the Armory Square Marietta Ohio page on Facebook.

Starting at $2.99/week.
