PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Art Center will hold a special event celebrating National Poetry Month, where the worlds of verse and visual art converge, at 6 p.m. April 20 in the PAC’s Main Gallery as poets and artists come together to reveal their collaborative masterpieces.
Poets submitted their verses, which were then selected by artists who created original artworks inspired by the chosen poems.
On April 20, the creators behind these complementary pieces will gather at the PAC to share their work through poetry readings and art presentations.
Due to water issues, the Artbeat Studios Spring Fling festivities have been relocated to the PAC on the same date. As part of this event, guests can enjoy classic hits performed by the DeBarr-Stevens Trio, with music starting around 5:15 p.m., followed by the poetry and art presentations.
This event is open to the public and free of charge. Guests can enjoy snacks and refreshments while experiencing the artistic atmosphere. The Art Center’s galleries and artist market gift shop will also be open, offering attendees the opportunity to explore additional works of creativity.
Following the event, the artwork and poems produced through this collaboration will be showcased in one of the PAC galleries. This exhibition not only highlights the power of collaboration but also celebrates the bond between poetry and visual art.
