Opry slates first show of the season

The Ohio Valley Opry on Saturday will hold its first show of the 2022 season at the Twin City Opera House, 15 West Main St., McConnelsville.

Featured will be Nashville singer-songwriter Larry Cordle and Erica Dodge of Marietta.

Cordle made a name for himself with “Highway 40 Blues,” which was made a No. 1 hit by Ricky Skaggs. He has since written top hits for Diamond Rio, Travis Tritt, George Strait and Alan Jackson, among others.

Dodge has made many appearances on the Ohio Valley Opry.

Opry regulars also will perform, including the Clark Family, Matt Coleman, the Sigler Family and Mike Morrison. Special guest on steel guitar will be Dave Morrison from Wheelersburg and guitarist Andrew Ruggles from South Shore, Ky.

Tickets start at $15 and are available in advance by calling 740 525-9218, online at OhioValleyOpry.com or at the box office. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the shows starts at 6 p.m.
