Community Foundation of Jackson County offering 20 scholarships

RIPLEY — Graduating seniors from Ripley, Ravenswood and Roane County high schools may now apply for the Community Foundation of Jackson County’s 2022 scholarships.

According to foundation Executive Director Misty Hamon, 20 scholarships will be available that can be used at any community college, university or technical school, including those outside of West Virginia.

Hamon also said each fund holder, the ones awarding the scholarships, has their own criteria, including grade point averages, a certain college the scholarship wants the students to attend, degree program and activities in school or in their community.

“Our goal is to continually support the advancement in higher education and what we hope to achieve is a local student will go out, receive the education and return to the community a better citizen,” Hamon said.

The deadline to apply is March 15 for these scholarships, which are available from $500 to $1,500.

Applications are available online at www.jccfinc.org or at the Foundation office at 108 N. Church Street in Ripley and on the JCCF Facebook page at facebook.com/jccfinc/.
