Wood County 4-H backs Summer Food Service Program

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County 4-H Leaders Association has announced its sponsorship of the federally funded Summer Food Service Program providing meals to area children during the summer.

Breakfast and lunch is open to all children 18 and under.

Meals will be served at the Wood County 4-H Campgrounds at 2203 Butcher Bend Road in Mineral Wells.

Breakfast will be provided from 8-9 a.m. and lunch from noon-1 p.m. June 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 19, 28, 29, 30, and July 1.

A nutritious meal is important for children to learn, play and remain active during the summer months, organizers said adding hunger doesn’t take a summer vacation.
