PARKERSBURG — Artwork from a Parkersburg artist has been selected for the National Watercolor Society’s Centennial International Open Exhibition, a juried exhibition.

Christine Rhodes’ painting “Under Pressure” also has received four awards in the show including the Blick Art Materials’ Purchase Award and three merchandise awards sponsored by Fabriano, Chartpak Excellence and Frame Destination.

“It’s quite an honor to be included in such a prestigious exhibition, especially when the jurors are well-known artists whose work I greatly admire,” Rhodes said.

Jurors in the selection for the exhibition were Katherine Chang Liu, Dean Mitchell and John Salminen. Judge of Awards was Mary Whyte.

The exhibition includes the work of artists from around the United States, Italy, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, Canada, Scotland, China and Taiwan.

The exhibition runs through Jan. 31 and will be online only this year due to the pandemic at the National Watercolor Society website, nationalwatercolorsociety.org. For more information, go to the website.
