PARKERSBURG — Members of the Blennerhassett Chapter of the Daughter of the American Revolution welcomed Becky Oppe as a new member during a brief welcoming ceremony at their monthly meeting on Sept. 12 at the Blennerhassett Museum.

The program for the meeting was given by the DAR junior members on the topic of PTSD, Shannon Sams-Harper presenting with the help of her daughter, Taylor.

A brief memorial ceremony was held for deceased daughter, Ethel Vick.

The Blennerhassett Chapter’s next meeting will be held noon Oct 17 at the Blennerhassett Museum with a pot luck and suffrage as the theme in honor of the passage of the 19th Amendment and women’s right to vote. Everyone is encouraged to dress in period clothing and wear hats, sashes, buttons and pins to commemorate the occasion.

Anyone interested in joining the Blennerhassett Chapter can contact chapter registrar, Dottie Cornell, at dottie–cornell@yahoo.com.
