Art from the Heart sets grand opening

PARKERSBURG – A ribbon cutting and grand opening will be held 1 p.m. today at the Wood County Society’s Art from the Heart retail space at 317 Eighth St. in Parkersburg.

The ribbon cutting will celebrate the addition to the Artbeat Studio. Artists and staff will be available from 1-3 p.m. today and 9-3 p.m. Friday.

To ensure the safety and well-being of the community, the grand opening will follow all social distancing guidelines from local and state authorities, and face masks will be required.

The non-profit Wood County Society provides resources and programs for individuals with disabilities throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley. Artbeat Studio is a collaborative community arts center in the Wood County Society.

The backbone of the studio is a group of talented artists with developmental differences creating masterpieces using up-cycled materials. The collaborative process helps create an environment that fosters accessibility, inclusion, abundance and compassion to ensure communities are united and live their best life.

Artists earn commissions and employment opportunities through the Artbeat Studio.
