Go With the Flow

The water was turned on Monday at the new Jackson Memorial Fountain in Parkersburg City Park. After the original 113-year-old fountain was toppled by a wind storm in October 2018, the city used just over half a million dollars from a bequest to maintain it, an insurance settlement and the general fund to have a replacement built of cast iron, the material used in the original fountain. Portions of it had been replaced by fiberglass in the early 1990s after a lightning strike. (Photo by Evan Bevins)
