Organizers postpone Ravenswood Ohio River Festival

RAVENSWOOD — The Ravenswood Ohio River Festival is being postponed until 2021 after much consideration.

According to Lucy Harbert, festival president, it was a hard decision as this is the first time the festival has had to be postponed.

The committee was polled and the majority ruled to postpone the event until next year.

All the entertainment acts and sponsors agreed to come back next year.

“All of our major entertainment has agreed to come back next year. To me, the health concerns outweighed anything else,” Harbert said. “We already had 10 sponsorships and when I called to tell them, asked to rollover the money, they agreed to roller the sponsorship for next year, the food and craft vendors said the same thing.”

Next year’s festival will take place Aug. 6-8 and planning will start immediately.

“We plan to make it bigger and better for next year. I want to add some more events,” Harbert said.
