VIENNA — A rummage and hot dog sale will be held 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Wayside United Methodist Church, 3001 Grand Central Ave. The sale benefits Women’s Missions.


Pinewood Derby

PARKERSBURG — The Kootaga Pinewood Derby will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at West Virginia University at Parkersburg. The race will be the qualifier for the Buckskin Council Championship. The Kootaga District Derby is open to all registered Scouts, leaders and parents. A Mayor’s Cup Race will be held at noon. Cub Scouts are boys and girls from kindergarten through fifth grade.


Spring Yard and Bake Sale

PARKERSBURG — A spring yard and bake sale will be held 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Edgelawn United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, Edgelawn and Camden avenues. Food and drinks will be available.


Wild Game Dinner

PARKERSBURG — American Legion Riders Post 15 will hold an auction 2 p.m. Sunday at the post, 2505 Ohio Ave. The event is open to the public. Doors open at 1 p.m. Proceeds will benefit charities supported by American Legion Riders.


History speaker

BELPRE — Kevin Ritter, a Washington County commissioner and an instructor at Washington State Community College, will speak 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Belpre Historical Society Thomas Annex, 509 Ridge St. Ritter will discuss the nation’s failed attempt at confederation government and the creation of the Constitution. The event is open to the public. A short business meeting will be held afterward.
