Mid-Ohio Valley Easter Parade set for April 4
PARKERSBURG — The 11th annual Mid-Ohio Valley Easter Parade will be held 2 p.m. April 4 along Market Street.
The parade is open to churches, groups, organizations, businesses, schools, bands, antique cars, fire departments, horses and dogs.
The theme of the parade this year is “Old Fashioned Easter.” Judges will pick the top three in the commercial and non-commercial categories.
The lineup will begin at noon and units will stage from 13th to 19th streets along Market. The parade route will run from 13th Street to Second Street. The parade will be held rain or shine.
All units must be decorated. The cost to register a unit is: $30 per vehicle for commercial; $30 political candidate; $15 per vehicle for non-commercial; $20 for walking units with a vehicle; $10 for walking units without a vehicle; $10 per vehicle for motorcycle groups; and no charge for fire departments.

Prior to the parade, a “Breakfast with the Bunny” will be 9-10 a.m. April 4 at the Chick-fil-A on Grand Central Avenue in Vienna.
The breakfast is free for children who will have a chance to visit with the Easter Bunny and with the Chick-fil-A Cow. There will be free Chick-n-minis, donuts and drinks for children.
As part of the annual Easter Parade celebration, the Easter Bonnet Contest will be held 7 p.m. March 26 at Artsbridge at 925 Market St. in downtown Parkersburg. Hats can be dropped off at Artsbridge from noon-4 p.m. March 25 and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. March 26.
The Easter bonnet making contest is sponsored by Artsbridge and Superior Logistics. Children and adults will have a chance to decorate and show off their Easter hats during this year’s Easter Bonnet Contest. The competition categories are: fifth grade and under; sixth to eighth grades; ninth to 12th grades; and adults.
