Known as “Whisperin’ Bill” for his soft vocal style, Anderson has received numerous awards, accolades and recognition over his long career. He released his 72nd album last September. The 11-track project was produced by Anderson along with Thomas Jutz and Peter Cooper.
Throughout his career, Anderson has had seven No. 1 singles and 29 Top 10 singles and is a six-time Songwriter Of the Year award-winner. As a Grand Ole Opry member for more than 50 years and a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame since 2001, Anderson is one of the most decorated songwriters and performers in country music history.
He earned the distinction of having an entry on the country charts for seven consecutive decades, a record held by no other songwriter in history. Anderson, recognized for his prolific songwriting at his recent induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, wrote on every track on his most recent album, titled “Anderson.” The album features collaborations with Bobby Tomberlin, Paul Overstreet, Buddy Cannon, Lance Miller, John Paul White, and Jamey Johnson, who sings on the standout track and first single from the project “Everybody Wants To Be Twenty-One.”
Later this year, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville will present an exhibit honoring Anderson’s work.
