Fish fry

PARKERSBURG — A Lenten fish fry will be held 6 p.m. Friday at the Parkersburg Knights of Columbus, 1010 Market St. The event is open to the public. Takeout orders may be made by calling 304-428-0331. Proceeds from the dinners are used to award academic scholarships.

Model Trains Open House

PARKERSBURG — The Mid-Ohio Valley Model Railroad Club will hold its Harold Shive Memorial Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the club in the rear basement of NOE Office Equipment at 610 Green St. Trains will be running in HO, N, O, S, G and Z scales. Admission and parking are free. An HO train set will be raffled and donations accepted to offset the cost of operating the model train layouts.

PSHS Jazz Ensemble Concert

VIENNA — The Parkersburg South High School Jazz Ensemble will close out the inaugural Artsbridge Winter Music Series at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Grand Central Mall. The Jazz Ensemble is directed by Eric Staats and will perform classic and modern jazz pieces.

Auditions

MARIETTA — The Mid-Ohio Valley Players will hold auditions for “Ring of Fire,” a musical celebrating the songs of Johnny Cash, Sunday and Monday at the Mid-Ohio Valley Players annex, located next door to the theater at 227 Putnam St.

Actors will audition at 6 p.m. and musicians at 7 p.m. The show will be presented in May.

Needed are one male, one female and three who can be either male or female All actors are encouraged to also play musical instruments, but this not mandatory.

Musicians needed include two acoustic guitar, resonator guitar, electric guitar, violin (fiddle), bass (double preferred, acoustic or electric will be considered), banjo and mandolin.

Concert

PARKERSBURG — “Our Songs and Stories of West Virginia” by Larry Groce, Mike Morningstar and Todd Burge will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 29 at the Parkersburg Art Center, 725 Market St. The concert will include special guest Dustin McCray. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and are only available at toddburge.com

PARKERSBURG — Country music legend, Hall of Fame member and long time Grand Old Opry member Bill Anderson will perform 8 p.m. April 3 at the Smoot Theater.

Anderson will perform one show only. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $40 and on sale at smoottheater.com or 304-422-PLAY (7529).
