PARKERSBURG — A “Books are Fun Sale” will be held 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Camden Clark Medical Center auditorium at 800 Garfield Ave.
WASHINGTON, W.Va. — The Washington Lions Club will hold an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at the Washington Bottom Community Building. Proceeds will benefit the Parkersburg High School Choir. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door or from choir members.
PARKERSBURG — V-Day PKB the Vagina Monologues 2020 will present “The Vagina Monologues” by Eve Ensler at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Actors Guild Annex at 716 Market St.
Planned as an annual event, Saturday’s performance is a benefit for the newly opened Hope Recovery Manor on Market Street, a nonprofit organization providing long-term addiction recovery support for women across the Mid-Ohio Valley by providing safe, supportive housing while working to obtain gainful employment and learn holistic life skills for maintaining long-term sobriety.
Admission is a suggested donation of $10 or needed items for the New Hope Recovery Manor, such as hygiene products, toiletries, paper goods or nonperishable food.
All are welcome, but the show does feature mature themes that may not be suited to everybody. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. to give everyone the opportunity to visit with representatives of organizations ranging from arts and culture to health care resources and more.
PARKERSBURG — American Legion 40&8 will hold a spaghetti dinner from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 15, 2505 Ohio Ave. Cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. The event is open to the public. Insured Sound will perform from 7-11 p.m.
MARIETTA — A ballroom dance will be held 7-9:30 p.m. Saturday at the O’Neill Center at 333 Fourth St. Cost is $5 per person. Dress is casual. Attendees can bring snacks to share, but only non-alcoholic beverages. For more information, call John Polasko at 440-263-4324.
MARIETTA — A Drum Circle program will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday at The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Marietta, 232 Third St. Master Drummer Lawrence Greene will conduct the workshop, which is $10. RAVENSWOOD — The North United Methodist Men will hold a “Super Breakfast Fundraiser” from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday at North United Methodist Church at Washington and Brown streets.
Valentine’s Day Concert
VIENNA — The Parkersburg Choral Society will present its annual Valentine’s Day concert 3 p.m. Sunday at the Vienna Baptist Church, 3401 Grand Central Ave. Admission to concerts is free, but donations will be accepted at the door. The Choral Society will perform a cappella compositions by Eric Barnum and Eleanor Daley and love songs from the 1930s and 1940s by composers including Cole Porter, Rogers and Hart and George and Ira Gershwin. The Choral Society will be accompanied by its rehearsal pianist David Nuss and an eight-piece jazz combo. The concert will feature solo selections by members of the choir, including music from opera, old standards and pop tunes. C-Note, a barbershop quartet, will perform selections from its repertoire.
