MORGANTOWN — The “RENT 20th Anniversary Tour” will be on stage at the West Virginia University Creative Arts Center for one show at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12.

“RENT” follows a year in the lives of seven artists struggling to follow their dreams without selling out their principles. The production contains strong language and explicit subject matter.

Tickets are on sale at the Mountainlair and Creative Arts Center box offices from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, online at Ticketmaster.com and by phone at 304-293-7469 and 800-745-3000.

Tickets start at $49 for the general public and $29 for WVU students. WVU student discounted tickets are limited to one per valid WVU student ID or offer code.

Opening in 1996, the original rock musical was written by Jonathan Larson, then a little-known composer. The play, which won a Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award, premiered off-Broadway at the New York Theatre Workshop on Feb. 13, 1996, and transferred to Broadway on April 29, 1996.
