PARKERSBURG — Students enrolled in the Wood County Technical Center Carpentry Program honed their technical skills while giving back to the community with project to build dog houses for the Sonnywood Animal Rescoue and Sanctuary. Using simulated workplace, the juniors through their business “Woodchuck Construction” built several dog boxes in November, which were then donated to the sanctuary in Beverly. The dog boxes were framed in the same fashion as a house to help the students learn basic homebuilding skills.
