Dr. Rehl to discuss books at Parkersburg library

PARKERSBURG — Austin Rehl, the author of the Sihalt Series, a new “epic fantasy adventure,” will be featured in a book reading and signing at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parkersburg and Wood County Public Library on Emerson Avenue.

“Guardian of the Sunshine Bride” and “Guardian of the Golden City” are the first two novels in the series by Rehl, a local dentist. He is currently writing “Guardian of the Emerald Coast,” the third installment for this romantic tale.

In his writing, Rehl said he tries to show the beauty, as well as the dangers, that can be found in the human heart.

His books can be found on Amazon and Audible.

Rehl practices dentistry in the Mid-Ohio Valley with a group of partners (some of whom are also authors). He founded the Family Tree Dental group practice.

Dr. Rehl said he has a number of interests. He enjoys permaculture farming, reading and hunting. He is a mentor to students in grades 7 through 12 at Veritas Classical Academy in Marietta, where he and his wife are among the founders of the school.

He enjoys dancing and won the Dancing with the Docs competition with a swing dance at Peoples Bank Theatre in 2018. He and his wife, Wendy, followed up that performance this year with an encore Salsa dance.
