Gallery: Going to Market

A pop-up Farmers Market was held Friday at Van Devender Middle School in Parkersburg. Though the market has made appearances at elementary schools throughout the area, Friday marked one of the first times it has been held at a middle school. Students were each given $4 in wooden coins which could be used to purchase fresh produce. They also received totes and information on healthy lifestyle choices. The farmers market program is provided through the West Virginia University Extension Service’s Family Nutrition Program. Friday’s event was paid for through a grant from the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation. (Photos Provided)
