PARKERSBURG — The Worthington Women’s Golf Association continued its celebration of 70 years of golfing with the annual “Fun Day” on July 18.

Twenty-two teams of ladies representing various golf courses throughout the region started the day with a continental breakfast served on the patio at the Worthington Golf Club. The ladies enjoyed a wonderful day of play with the scramble format. The intense heat was held at bay by a cloudy sky until most of the teams finished their round and came into the clubhouse for a luncheon, followed by door prize and team awards.

The WWGA will continue regular league play on Tuesdays until they hold their tournament to determine this year’s club champion. The two-day tournament will take place Sept. 10 and 17.

Celebration of the WWGA’s 70th year of continuous play at Worthington Golf Course will conclude with the closing luncheon and awards on Oct. 1.
