Laurel Creek to perform at City Park
PARKERSBURG — Laurel Creek will perform 7-8 p.m. today at the bandshell at City Park in the Artsbridge Summer Music in the Park series.
The concert will be held at the horseshoe pit at the park in the case of rain.
Today’s show is sponsored by the Blennerhassett Hotel.
Artsbridge will collect glass, tile, ceramic, pottery and dishes that can be broken pieces to create a mosaic mural for the new Williamstown Elementary School.
The members of Laurel Creek are from the St. Marys area and share a love of bluegrass music. The band performs at regional fairs and festivals and often plays to support local community events and fundraising benefits.
Their music offerings are acoustical bluegrass at its core but always contain a mix of songs that could be labeled as Traditional, Gospel, Blues and Folk. The band has five recordings available and the latest CD is “Good News from the Valley: A Gospel Collection.”
Chairs and blankets are recommended. Lambert-Tatman will provide free water and the Popcorn Man will serve fresh kettle and caramel corn.
