One person was killed today in a shooting in a parking lot of a hardware store in Ritchie County, authorities said.

The incident at the Ace Hardware in Pennsboro occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m., according to the 911 center in Ritchie County.

The sheriff’s department and West Virginia State Police are investigating and are on the scene.
