MINERAL WELLS — A quarter auction will be Saturday at the West Virginia Interstate Fairgrounds on Butcher Bend Road. Doors open at noon and the auction runs from 1-5 p.m. Admission and parking are free. Paddles are $2 each. Over 100 items are up from auction. Vendors will also be present. Free food and drinks.
NEW MARTINSVILLE — ArtsLink will hold auditions for the Wayward Players’ children’s theater production of “Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr,” at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lincoln Theater. Roles are available for students going into grades 1 through 12. Students are asked to prepare a short song, to be sung a capella, and be prepared to read some lines for the speaking roles. Amateur Radio Field Day
WALKER — Wood County Emergency Communications will hold its annual Field Day on June 22-23 at 163 Hendershot Farm Drive. From 2 p.m. Saturday to 2 p.m. Sunday, the club will set up antennas and radio equipment at five different locations in a 24-hour event where amateur radio operators contact other operators around the world. The Parkersburg Amateur Radio Club will hold its annual Field Day at the same time on Fort Boreman Hill.
Civil War Re-enactment
BOAZ — Henderson Hall will host its annual Civil War Re-enactment on Saturday and Sunday. In a new addition, the Valley Gem Sternwheeler will offer a trip to the Henderson Hall Civil War Re-enactment on Saturday. Tickets for the sternwheeler trip at $75 per person and includes breakfast and lunch on the Valley Gem. The re-enactment includes a battle between Union and Confederate troops on the grounds of Henderson Hall Plantation. Camps and other displays will be open to the public on the grounds near the home. The Hall will be open to tour as well. The battle will begin around noon.
