Garden Party

MARIETTA — The Castle, a historic house and museum on Fourth Street in Marietta, will be hosting its annual Garden Party from 7-9 p.m. today in the Castle courtyard.

Tickets are $30 and will be available at the door or online at mariettacasle.org/events.

The Garden Party will provide Castle members and guests the opportunity to enjoy appetizers and jazz music provided by the Fifth Street Jazz Trio among the Castle gardens. While learning about all of the educational programs The Castle offers throughout the year, attendees will have a chance to win two complimentary tickets to the Cultural Caravan, a trip to Chillicothe that will include tickets to the Tecumseh show.


Jazzin’ Up the Museums

MARIETTA — Jazzin’ Up the Museums will be 6:30-9 p.m. Friday on the Valley Gem Sternwheeler. The event is a benefit for Friends of the Museum. Reservations are required by calling 740-373-3750. The cost is $40 per person and $75 per couple. Boarding will begin at 6 p.m., departure is 6:30 p.m. and return at 9 p.m.


Free Summer Movie Series

PARKERSBURG — The Wood County Family Resource Network begins it free summer movie series at 8 p.m. Friday at Quincy Park. The movie will be “Lego Movie 2.” Admission is free and there will be concessions, children’s activities, music and prizes.


Flag Retirement Ceremony

BELPRE — The Belpre Area Veterans will conduct an American flag retirement ceremony from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Howes Grove Park at 1614 Washington Blvd. The event will be held weather permitting. The public is invited to bring unserviceable flag to the park for proper disposal.


Cairo Jamboree

CAIRO — The next Cairo Jamboree will be Saturday at the Cairo Community Building behind the town hall. The event will feature House Band Solid Foundation. Signups begin at 5 p.m. and the first artist will sing at 5:30 p.m., continuing until the last artist/group performs.


Strip Steak/Chicken Dinner

LOWELL — American Legion Post 750 will hold a strip steak or chicken dinner from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the Legion Hall. Eat-in and carryout are available. A youth group will be selling desserts.


Community Spirit Color Run

WILLIAMSTOWN — The Community Spirit 5K Run/Walk/Wheel Color Run will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Tomlinson Park.

All profits will go to support the purchasing of accessible playground equipment at Tomlinson Park.


Third Sunday Dinner

CUTLER — The Cutler Community Center will hold its next Third Sunday Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the center at 4550 Two Mile Run Road. This month’s dinner is hosted by the Decatur Community Association. Meals are $7 for adults or $40 for children. Proceeds benefit the Cutler Community Center.
