Used book sale

BARLOW — A used book sale will be today through Saturday at the Barlow Branch Library on Ohio 339 at Barlow, sponsored by the Friends of the Barlow Library. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. For more information, contact 740-678-0103.


Relay for Life of Williamstown

WILLIAMSTOWN — The 2018 Relay For Life of Williamstown will be 5:30 p.m. to midnight Friday at Tomlinson Park. Relay For Life is a fundraising event benefitting the American Cancer Society. The Williamstown Relay will feature a car show from 4:30-8 p.m.; a country store raffle from 4-11 p.m.; opening ceremony at 5:30 p.m.; Cancer Survivor Lap at 6 p.m.; entertainers all night; a purse, pie and more auction at 7 p.m.; the luminaria ceremony at 10 p.m. and the closing ceremony at midnight.



PARKERSBURG — A chicken and brats dinner will be 6 p.m. Friday at the Knights of Columbus, 1010 Market St. Cost is by menu pricing. Takeout orders can be called in to 304-428-0331. The event is open to the public.


Ice Cream Social

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg High School Football 2018 Ice Cream Social will be 5:30 p.m. Friday at Stadium Field at PHS. Tickets are $5 a person, which includes one serving of ice cream and dessert. Tickets are available from any player or at the gate. There will be a silent auction, raffles and concessions. Proceeds benefit Big Red Football.


Movie Night

VIENNA — A movie night will be Friday at the Jackson Park Pool. Swimming and DJ will be 7-9 p.m. with a movie from 9-10:30 p.m.


Flea Market

CRESTON — A flea market will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Creston Community Building on W.Va. 5 at Creston, between Elizabeth and Grantsville. Museum events

MARIETTA — A pair of events will be held at the Campus Martius Museum on Friday and Saturday.

The next Brown Baggin’ Thru History program will be noon Friday at the museum. The program is free with discounted admission to the museum. The speaker is Anthony Gibbs, who will portray John Parker, an Underground Railroad conductor from Ripley, Ohio.

Saturday will be Museum Day with free admission to the Campus Martius and Ohio River museums from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Presenters and re-enactors will include Buffalo Bill Cody, Abraham Lincoln and Granny Sue. There will also be a classic car show.


Rummage sale

VIENNA — Rosemar United Methodist Church will be having a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be household items, glassware, books, magazines, gently used clothing. Hot dogs and baked goods are also available.


Antique Engine Show

BOAZ — The Wood County Flywheelers will hold an Antique Engine Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Henderson Hall on Old River Road between Boaz and Williamstown. Admission to the engine show is free. Tours of Henderson Hall are $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for children ages 6 and under.



VIENNA — A This N That Sale will be 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Summitt Valley United Methodist Church on W.Va. 14. Sponsored by the Women Society there will be lots of items for sale along with hot dogs, potato soup, baked goods and Rada knives.

PARKERSBURG — The third annual Parkersburg Night Out will be 5:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at City Park. The event is hosted by the Parkersburg Police Department and will include hot dogs from 5:30-7 p.m. There will be a community challenge from 7-7:45 p.m. There will be bike giveaways for children ages 4-16 with a drawing at 8 p.m.
