MORGANTOWN — Dr. Jaschar Shakuri-Rad, a Parkersburg High School graduate, has joined Mon Health as medical director of robotic surgery.
Shakuri-Rad, a urologist, recently completed urological robotic surgery training at the University of Michigan Health System in Grand Rapids, Mich. With the addition of Shakuri-Rad, Mon Health Urology will offer minimally invasive robotic surgeries for patients with disorders or disease of the bladder, kidneys and prostate.
“Robotic surgery results in less patient discomfort and quicker recovery times,” he said. “West Virginia is my home, and I’m looking forward to helping my fellow West Virginians.”
Dr. Shakuri-Rad’s expertise will allow Mon Health Urology to offer alternative, innovative procedures for treating urologic conditions, including adrenal, bladder, kidney and ureteral cancers; kidney stones; overactive bladder; and reconstruction, said Mon Health.
The Parkersburg High School graduate earned his undergraduate degree at West Virginia University. He attended West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg.
