Sternwheel Pageant set for Friday

MARIETTA — The Ohio River Sternwheel Festival will hold its annual Little Miss and Mr. Sternwheel Pageant at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Lafayette Hotel in downtown Marietta.

The pageant is open to the public. Admission is $3.

Little Miss and Mr. Sternwheel will be selected by a panel of judges scoring the children on poise, presentation, modeling, attire and a personal interview. Contestants are ages 5-8 years old.

The winners will receive a prize package including a trophy, sash, tiara or captain’s hat, a gift certificate from WesBanco and other prizes. They will assist with the coronation of the new Queen Genevieve on Saturday.

The contestants are:

* Raelynn Moore, the daughter of Tiffany and Wesley Moore of Caldwell

* Sophia Jackson, the daughter of Chris and Cassie Jackson of Marietta

* Reagan Sturgeon, the daughter of Samantha and Brian Sturgeon of St. Marys

* Lydia Grace Goldberg, the daughter of David and Amanda Goldberg of Marietta

* Gloria Choleua, the daughter of Abbie and Ryan Choleua

* Victoria Ann Norris, the daughter of Randy and Kimberly Norris of Vincent

* Aspyn Kendall, the daughter of Justin and Kayla Kendall of Marietta

* Maxwell Caudill, the son of Crystal and Patrick Caudill

* Noah Wilson Ross, the son of Rocky and Amber Ross of Marietta

* Adrian (AJ) Poellot, the son of Victoria Poellot Tauber of Parkersburg

* Ryan Mason, the son of Lauren Karcher and Dan Mason of Marietta.
