PARKERSBURG — A student from Mineral Wells Elementary School won first place in the West Virginia Farm Bureau’s “Agriculture in West Virginia” poster contest.
Sharon Lin is a fourth-grade student in Daneen Moore’s class at the school.
Lin received $25 for winning the county contest and $100 for winning the state contest. She is the daughter of Yi Juan Lin and Jia Quan Lin of Mineral Wells.
Every year, county farm bureaus hold a poster contest for fourth-grade students. Students are asked to do a poster on “Agriculture in West Virginia.”
The posters are judged on the county level and the first-place winner’s poster is sent to the West Virginia Farm Bureau’s state office to be judged with other county winners.
