MARIETTA — Marietta College has announced that Dr. Jacqueline Khorassani, Senior Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship & Career Development and Professor of Economics, recently delivered the inaugural lecture for the Master’s Program in Strategic Management of Organizations to Instituto de Educaçio Superior de BrasÌlia (IESB) University Center located in BrasÌlia, Brazil.

On Aug. 21, Khorassani delivered her lecture, “Every Employee an Innovator: Cultivating the Entrepreneurial Mindset in Organizations,” remotely to IESB graduate students and faculty. The lecture highlighted practical strategies that institutions can use to foster creativity, resilience, initiative, and problem-solving across disciplines.

The head of the program, Dr. Andre Rehbein Sathler Guimar”es, presented Khorassani with a formal certificate, recognizing the impact of her expertise and her role in opening the university’s academic term.

“It was a joy to engage with IESB’s talented students and faculty,” Khorassani said. “I’m grateful for the warm welcome and inspired by the program’s commitment to applied, student-centered learning.”

As a leader in entrepreneurial education, Khorassani has been instrumental in building Marietta College’s entrepreneurship program, launching its first Entrepreneurial Mindset course in 2015 and helping establish entrepreneurship curriculum, as well as a variety of co-curricular programs and activity opportunities for Marietta’s student body.

Her professional journey showcases her expertise and global reach in the field of economics. She has taught a wide range of economics courses at MC, including Macroeconomics, Money and Banking, International Economics, and more. Khorassani’s scholarship and expertise have taken her abroad to lecture internationally in China, Brazil and Ireland. In addition, she has published articles in economic journals and presented at conferences worldwide.

The delivery of her inaugural lecture at IESB allows Khorassani to join other MC faculty who have shared their expertise with international audiences, strengthening the College’s reputation for academic excellence.
