PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Art Center will host a fundraising event, Tastes and Tunes, on Saturday, July 12, from 7-10 p.m. at the 700 block of Market Street in downtown Parkersburg.

Reservations are available online at https://tinyurl.com/3wtf682b until July 10, allowing Valley Catering time to prepare. Tickets are $40 each. Only 300 tickets total will be sold.

“Tastes and Tunes is one of those special nights where everything comes together – great music, delicious food, friends, family and supporters who believe in the power of the arts,” said Jessie Siefert, Managing Director of the Parkersburg Art Center.

“It’s a chance to kick back and enjoy a summer evening under the Edison lights on Market, all while helping us keep art accessible, visible, and thriving in our region,” she said.

The event wristband includes a concert, a fully catered meal, desserts, and non-alcoholic beverages. Valley Catering will prepare a menu featuring a small bites station with a colorful spread of meats, cheeses, dips, fruits, veggies, and artisan breads; a loaded baked potato bar; carving station including brisket, turkey, ham, pulled pork & BBQ jackfruit with sauces and rolls; a Southwest Station with shrimp tacos, black beans, Spanish rice, chips, salsa bar and salad; as well as desserts like brownies, cheesecake cups and cookies and coffee, lemonade, iced tea and water

Two bands will be performing for guests. First on stage will be OYO, a group that was “born on the banks of the Ohio River and fed by many influences and tributaries upstream: Americana, folk, bluegrass, old school country, and rock and roll.” It will be followed by Sour Mash String Band that performs bluegrass, truegrass and newgrass with a twist of the hillbilly funk.

Guests can also explore galleries and visit The Market, the PAC’s artist market gift shop throughout the evening.

Drink and game tickets will be sold at the gate to streamline purchases once inside. A selection of beers and wines will be available for purchase at two bars. Tickets will also allow holders to spin for a win at the Wine/Prize Wheel, where every spin wins prizes ranging from a few dollars to $100 in value and try for prizes at the new Human Slot Machine game. Cash is preferred at the ticket purchase tables but cards will be accepted.

This fundraiser for the Parkersburg Art Center will happen rain or shine because the PAC can move the whole party indoors if necessary. The galleries and The Market will have options for indoor dining open throughout the event so visitors can step in if it proves to be another warm evening.

The sponsors include: Jan Dils Attorneys at Law, Hughes Properties, Premier Productions, Waters Fanta Insurance, ONE. Skin Care Studio, Wine & Beverage Merchants of WV, Dan Marshall, WVU CCMC, United Bank, Wine Down on Market, and Holl’s Chocolate.
