MARIETTA — Wit & Whimzy and Clutch Collective MOV, two boutique shops in downtown Marietta, are hosting their second annual Galentine’s Event from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13.

Located at 154 and 152 Front St., the two shops are partnering with local artists and makers to sweeten the event.

The day before Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day is an annual holiday celebrating positive, female friendships. The holiday originated from the show “Parks and Recreation” in 2010 and has become a staple event over the last 14 years.

“It’s so fun to host this event that celebrates female friendships, especially when women lead such busy lives. For a couple of hours, ladies can relax, engage with artists, enjoy some ‘exclusive’ promotions and maybe some retail therapy,” said Laura Pytlik, owner of Wit & Whimzy. “I love that Galentine’s Day has become a tradition in so many variations.”

Wit & Whimzy and Clutch Collective are owned and operated by mother and daughter duo, Laura Pytlik and Sarah Arnold. The two are excited to welcome the community for a festive evening event full of fun and friendship. Attendees are invited to enjoy refreshments, a giveaway, and exclusive, locally made items created just for this event.

Honey Bun Bakery, a licensed home bakery based in Beverly, will offer a special menu with holiday-themed treats. Owner Stacey Saunders is excited to be back this year with a variety of delicious baked goods.

Local artists will have special pieces available, debuting at this event. Participating artists include Lilahbloom Jewelry, Sara & Sybil, Patterson’s Farm, Appalachian Anthropology, and The Beard and The Bun Pottery.

“We’re excited to include so many local artists and makers in this year’s event,” said Sarah Arnold, owner of Clutch Collective. “It’s a wonderful way to showcase the incredible talent in our community while creating a space for friends to connect and celebrate together.”

This year’s Galentine’s Event offers a fun evening of shopping, local art, and sweet treats in downtown Marietta. With exclusive artist collaborations, refreshments, and a welcoming atmosphere, Wit & Whimzy and Clutch Collective are excited to bring friends together to celebrate and support small businesses.
