VIENNA — Local shoppers will have the opportunity to “Help Local Kids Thrive” during a fundraising event with Ross Dress For Less and Boys & Girls Clubs of Parkersburg starting Saturday.

Running through March 2, shoppers at Ross can round up their purchases or donate other dollar amounts at the registers when they check out, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Clubs with 80% going to the local organizations in Parkersburg and 20% going to Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

“Academic success is one of our priority outcomes and we are incredibly grateful for Ross’s commitment to supporting Power Hour which provides enriching activities that encourage members to become lifelong learners,” said Boys & Girls Clubs of Parkersburg CEO Lynn Reins. “Our staff members do an incredible job facilitating this program and we’re excited to see it grow thanks to our friends and partners Ross Dress For Less.”

Each year since the Vienna store opened three years ago, employees and customers have participated in the event to raise funds for the Power Hour program, which assists members with homework and provides academic resources.

Additionally, The Ross Stores Foundation will match funds up to $500,000. Every $5 donation could help provide one half hour of homework help for a Club youth and $10 could give a teen an hour of help with college applications. Fifteen dollars could provide a kid with one and a half hours of science experiments.

“Ross is proud of our long-standing partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs, and we are excited to host our 11th annual in-store fundraiser to ‘Help Local Kids Thrive.’ Together, we are committed to providing kids in communities across the country with the academic support they need to achieve big goals,” said Matt Young, Group Senior Vice President, Ross Stores.

Starting at $2.99/week.
