MARIETTA — The keynote speaker has been announced for the 107th Annual Dinner of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce on March 7 at the Dyson-Baudo Recreation Center at Marietta College.

Joe DeLoss has become among the most talked-about social entrepreneurs in the country. DeLoss will discuss working with purpose and the building his newest venture, Hot Chicken Takeover, a fast-casual restaurant chain taking over the Midwest.

He credits much of his success to changing perspectives on human resources and workforce development. The majority of his team members have experienced significant adversity in their past, addiction, homelessness or incarceration.

It is a message Hot Chicken Takeover isn’t shy on communicating and for DeLoss, the approach is far from charitable. It is the linchpin of Hot Chicken Takeover’s success.

DeLoss’ dedication to fair-chance employment, social entrepreneurship and vulnerable leadership has allowed him to impact the lives of thousands of people. As DeLoss continues to build, he is sharing his story with national audiences across the country — including on the “The Today Show,” Forbes, Harvard Business School, “Politico” and “the Rachael Ray Show.”

Social hour at the annual meeting begins at 5 p.m. when guests are invited to meet with each other and visit the sponsorship tables around the room.

Following a dinner served by Parkhurst catering, DeLoss will speak before the annual awards are announced: the Washington County Council of Cooperative Agricultural Award, the Zonta Elizabeth L. Hadler Woman of the Year Award, the Gabe Zide Citizen of the Year Award and the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce Business Leader of the Year Award will be announced.

Tickets are $60 per Chamber member and $70 per non-member. Tickets include admission, the social hour, a three-course meal, community awards presentation and an evening with area business leaders.

Reservations are required by calling the chamber at 740-373-5176 or emailing info@mariettachamber.com. Reservations may also be made via the chamber’s website www.mariettachamber.com.

The chamber has about 600 members and was established in 1887.
