Cookie sales to benefit Walk to End Alzheimer’s
MARIETTA — Warren’s IGA on Muskingum Drive in Marietta for a limited time will donate $1 to the 2021 Mid-Ohio Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s for every pack of Smile Cookies sold.
The purple-frosted sugar cookies are available in the store bakery through January.
“We are pleased to partner on this promotion to help raise funds to fight Alzheimer’s Disease,” said store manager Mike Morrison. “So many in our community are affected, or have loved ones affected by Alzheimer’s Disease, and we hope this will contribute toward finding a cure.”
The annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s raises awareness and money to provide resources and services for the millions of people nationwide living with Alzheimer’s Disease and the millions more who care for them. The walk raises funds for research on how to treat and eventually cure Alzheimer’s Disease.
“This is a great opportunity to purchase cookies to give to others, or for your family to enjoy, while also supporting the efforts of your local volunteer walk committee – we appreciate Warren’s IGA for their support,” Tammie Johnson, co-chair of the Mid-Ohio Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s, said.
This year’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s is scheduled for Sept. 18, but fundraising has already started.
