Roane County woman’s dream comes true with boutique
SPENCER — A lifelong dream of becoming a fashion designer turned into the reality of owning a boutique and for owner Hannah Losey, it’s a dream come true.
Bellamie Boutique, situated in the heart of downtown Spencer, offers a variety of clothing for men and women at a convenient location for Roane County residents.
Since the county didn’t have a boutique, Losey said she thought it would be a good opportunity to open her own.
“We drive a least an hour if not more just to go to any type of department store to buy clothes. We’re just waiting for a building to open up. We were very happy when it opened and we jumped on it,” she said.
The old Traders Bank building is now home to the boutique. Losey said it still has it’s original vault, an unique piece within the store.
From the time she was a little girl, Losey has had a passion for fashion. When she was 5-years old, she wrote to Santa and asked for a pair of high heels.
“So this is a dream, absolutely, to have my own clothing store and who knows where it’ll go from here,” she said.
Last weekend, the store made its debut to the community and so far, it has been well received as they have reached their daily sales goals since the opening, she said.
“The City of Spencer has their own Facebook page and they made a big announcement on there and told everybody to come shop,” she said. “Everyone loves that they can be in town. We have a corner square here all around the courthouse and it’s slowly coming together. It wasn’t prior, when I was a kid, we didn’t have any of this stuff.”
Bellamie Boutique is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
