The Health Plan receives contract extension
WHEELING — The Health Plan, a health maintenance organization based in Wheeling, was awarded a three-year extension of a statewide Medicaid contract through the Mountain Health Trust managed care program by the West Virginia Department of Health & Human Resources.
The Health Plan, which has provided 23 years of service to West Virginia’s Medicaid population, is a member of the West Virginia Association of Health Plans and serves more than 90,000 Medicaid-eligible members including pregnant women, the West Virginia Health Bridge Medicaid expansion, Children with Special Health Care Needs, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Supplemental Security Income.
“The Health Plan strives to provide high-quality health care to all of our members across the state. We also remain focused on helping our communities manage and improve their health,” said Jeff Knight, interim president and chief operating officer of The Health Plan.
