Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce plans events
MARIETTA — The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce has several events coming up in the next few weeks.
The free Boost Your Business workshop will be held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Huntington Bank, 226 Third St. The topic is “The No Pressure/ Pressure Salesman.”
The presentation will cover non-pressure, but effective retail selling techniques. The featured speaker is John Voorhies from the Small Business Development Center.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will meet 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Elizabeth Sugden Broughton Community Building on Ohio 821 in Marietta.
The topic for the month is “Mid-Ohio Valley Drug Update” with featured speaker Chief Deputy Mark Warden, Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
Cost is $15 for Safety Council members not enrolled in the prepaid program and for the public, which includes lunch. RSVP if not enrolled in the prepaid program. Membership in Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the workplace.
The Safety Council is a program of the Chamber of Commerce and is co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene. Companies can earn up to 4 percent rebate on their workers compensation premium through participation in the Safety Council.

The Professional Women’s Roundtable will be held 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 26 at DaVinci’s in Williamstown.
The topic for this month is “Health Care Your Way — A New Option With A Traditional Twist” with featured speaker Ellen Brown, Ascent Private Practice.
The Professional Women’s Roundtable is an opportunity for area professional and businesswomen to discuss issues and ideas. The cost of each meeting is $10 for members and $15 for the general public, which includes lunch. Reservations are required.

Coffee Chat will hold its free monthly meeting 8:30-9:30 a.m. Feb. 28 at the chamber conference room, 100 Front St. Coffee Chat is an opportunity for MACC members to voice their interests, share their views, and share business news. Non-chamber members can learn what the chamber offers.
