Professional Women’s Roundtable to meet in Williamstown

MARIETTA — The Professional Women’s Roundtable, sponsored by the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, will meet 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Jan. 22 at DaVinci’s, 215 Highland Ave., Williamstown.

The topic for this month is Communication Strategies and Ways to Help Individuals with Hearing Loss with speaker Dr. Erin Wells, Mountain Ears Hearing Clinic.

The roundtable is an opportunity for area professional and businesswomen to meet and discuss issues and share ideas. The cost is $10 for members and $15 for the public, which includes lunch. Reservations are required.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will meet 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Jan. 15 at the Elizabeth Sugden Broughton Community Building, 619 State Route 821, Marietta. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.

The topic for the month is Conceal Carry Permits in the Workplace with speaker Deputy Sheriff Mary Pfeifer of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.

The cost is $15 for Safety Council members not enrolled in the Prepaid Program and for the public, which includes lunch. Membership in Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the workplace.

The Safety Council is a program of the Chamber of Commerce and is co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene. Companies can earn up to 4 percent rebate on their workers compensation premium through participation in the Safety Council.

Luncheons are held with presentations on a wide variety of safety subjects as requested by the membership. The Safety Council meets monthly, usually on the third Wednesday of each month.

The Chamber of Commerce’s free Coffee Chat will be held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Jan. 31 at the chamber Conference Room, 100 Front St. The chat is sponsored by Jeremiah’s Coffee House.

Coffee Chat is an opportunity for members to discuss their interests, views and news about their business.
