Marietta Chamber of Commerce plans events

MARIETTA — Upcoming events sponsored by the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce include:

The next Boost Your Business workshop will be held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Huntington Bank, 226 Third St.

The topic is “Hide-and-Go-Seek: The Art of Finding the Right Employees” with featured speaker Kelly Campbell, Marietta College.

Boost Your Business is a monthly workshop hosted by the Chamber.

Light breakfast refreshments and coffee will be provided by Huntington Bank on Third Street in Marietta.

The monthly Business After Hours 5:00-6:30 p.m. Thursday at Greenleaf Landscapes, 414 Muskingum Drive.

Business After Hours is an informal gathering hosted by a different Chamber member each month.

Cost is $5 for members and $10 for the publicand members who want to be invoiced.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will meet 11:30-1 p.m. Oct. 16 at the Marietta Shrine Club, 249 Pennsylvania Ave. Registration and boarding will begin at 11:30 and the meeting will begin at noon.

The topic is “Railroad Safety in the Workplace” with speaker Jason Bishop, CSX Transportation, regional manager community affairs and safety.

The cost of the meeting is $15 for members (includes lunch). Membership in Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the work place.

The Safety Council is a program of the Chamber of Commerce co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene. Companies can earn up to 4 percent rebate on their workers compensation premium through participation in the Safety Council.

Luncheons are held with presentations on a variety of safety subjects as requested by the membership. Safety Council meets monthly, usually on the third Wednesdays.

The Professional Women’s Roundtable lunch and meeting will be held Oct. 23 at DaVinci’s, 215 Highland Ave., Williamstown.

The topic is “Nutritional Label Reading” with featured speaker Amy Boles of Memorial Health System.

The Professional Women’s Roundtable is an opportunity for professional and businesswomen to meet and discuss issues and share ideas. The cost of each meeting is $10 for members and $15 for the general public and includes lunch.

The Chamber of Commerce will hold its monthly Coffee Chat 8:30-9:30 a.m. Oct. 25 at the chamber, 100 Front St.

Coffee Chat is an opportunity for members to discuss their interests, views and news about their business.

It is open to open to non-members, too.
