Blennerhassett Hotel sold to new owners
PARKERSBURG – The Blennerhassett Hotel has been sold to new local owners.
Wayne Waldeck and Lee Rector, effective Oct. 1, will take possession of the hotel that opened in 1889 from Sam Ross and family, according to a press release from Waldeck and Rector.
The hotel will remain open during the transition and will soon include a new Medi Spa “and fine dining experience,” the new owners said.
“Our plans include adding another star to the hotel’s rating, with the ultimate goal of becoming West Virginia’s second most well-known hotel,” said Waldeck, who is the co-owner of the Wal-Born Corp., which operates McHappy’s and Napoli’s. Rector owns Lee’s Studio.
