Dr. Deric Bryant named hospitalist director at Camden Clark Medical Center

PARKERSBURG — A new director of the hospitalist program has been named at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center.

Dr. Deric Bryant, D.O., will be the full time director of Camden Clark’s hospitalist program and will lead the hospitalists’ team of 14 full time physicians and six advanced practice providers at the hospital.

Bryant has been a hospitalist for the past four years and in 2017 became co-director of the hospitalist program working with Dr. Annette Hamilton. Hamilton launched the hospitalist program at Camden Clark in 2009.

It was through her drive and determination that Camden Clark’s hospitalist program grew from six to 14 hospitalists with three nurse practitioners and three physician assistants.

“As a West Virginia native and Parkersburg resident, I know the healthcare issues and challenges facing our community,” Bryant said.

Bryant said his goal is to provide the hospitalists with all resources necessary to provide excellent patient care and to improve the patient experience.

“I am excited to be working with the hospitalists as their medical director,” he said.

“I thank Dr. Annette Hamilton for her mentorship over the past few years, and I’m happy to continue to work alongside her and the other doctors on staff.”

A hospitalist is trained in treating patients in a hospital setting. The hospitalists at WVU Medicine CCMC work together as a team with other qualified health care professionals to provide care to patients around the clock.

Hospitalists only work at the hospital, meaning that they provide around-the-clock in-house coverage for the treatment of patients.

Hamilton will remain chairman of the Department of Medicine for WVU Medicine CCMC and will remain a member of the Hospitalist team.

“I believe that by focusing on quality care, open communications with patients and families, Dr. Bryant will continue our legacy of patient centered care that this talented group of physicians has built over the last 10 years,” Hamilton said.

Camden Clark is a 302 bed, not-for-profit, acute care facility serving an 11 county region of West Virginia and Southeastern Ohio.

Starting at $2.99/week.
