West Virginia University at Parkersburg, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce to host job fair
RIPLEY — West Virginia University at Parkersburg and the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce will host a job fair, in cooperation with Jackson General Hospital, on Thursday, May 3.
The event will take place at the Jackson County Armory from noon until 4 p.m. All employers and job seekers are invited to attend.
Job seekers should dress professionally, bring plenty of resumes and research registered employers, WVU-P said.
“We are excited to host a job fair closer to our WVU Parkersburg Jackson County Center and to work with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce to bring their local employers and residents together,” said Jennifer Randolph, director of Career Services at WVU Parkersburg. “This job fair is also just two days before our spring commencement, providing a terrific opportunity for our graduating students.”
WVU Parkersburg students and alumni may schedule an appointment with WVU Parkersburg Career Services prior to the event for help with their resume, to practice their approach to an employer or for other employment or interviewing tips.
“We are holding this event in cooperation with the Jackson General Health Fair, which will be at the same location from 7 to 11 a.m. Many of the health fair vendors will also be participating in the job fair,” said Ron Gaskins with the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
On Friday, Sept. 28, WVU Parkersburg will also host the MOV Career Fair with U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin at the main campus in Parkersburg. This will be the second career fair co-hosted between Manchin and the college. The first took place in October 2017 and received over 600 job seekers from the Mid-Ohio Valley.
