Edith Irene Bibbee Dunbar will celebrate her 90th birthday on Sept. 9 with an open house hosted by her children from 2-4 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church’s Trinity Hall. Friends and relatives are invited to attend.
She was born Sept. 12, 1928, in Parkersburg, the eldest daughter of the late Edward and Elma Myers Bibbee. She married Carroll L. Dunbar Sept. 7, 1952. They were married for 64 years until his death March 2017.
She is a 1946 graduate of Parkersburg High School and was employed by American Viscose Corp., Corning Glass Works and Mountain State Steel Foundries for a combined 22 years. She also helped her husband on the farm.
She is the mother of Kenneth (Robin( Dunbar of Wheeling and Karen (Jeff) Barton.
She is grandmother of seven: Jesse (Cynthia) Barton of Washington, W.Va.; Kalina (Rob) Jones; Amy Dunbar of Fairfax, Va.; Marc Dunbar and Eric Dunbar, both of Morgantown; Arliss Barton; and McKenna Dunbar of Wheeling. She has one great-grandchild, Christian Posey of Washington.
