Kyna Waderker leads Belpre past Rebels
Golden Eagles improve to 11-3 overall
BELPRE– Kyna Waderker was the game leader in points with 20 as the Belpre Golden Eagles made short work of South Gallia in a Tri-Valley Conference Hocking Division showdown Thursday with a final of 54-28.
“Kyna runs the floor so well and did a good job getting into position tonight,” said Golden Eagles head coach Chris Murray.
Abby Linton made three from deep giving her nine points, while Jaylynn Linton chipped in with seven.
Up 28-7 going into halftime, coach Murray was able to give some of his younger players some game time action. Murray was impressed with how they played in the second half.
“What I like most was there wasn’t really a drop off in defense. They played with great intensity,” Murray said.
Leading the way for South Gallia was Jessie Rutt’s seven points and Mikayla Waugh’s six points.
Improving to 11-3 on the season, Belpre hits the road Monday to face Eastern.
