South victorious in North-South softball contest

BUFFALO – The West Virginia North-South softball games here Thursday saw the South squad win the first two games, then tie the North team in the third game.

In the five-inning opener, a 9-0 South victory, Parkersburg South’s Megan Bosley was the North MVP. Kirsten Seese and Tracy Lamp from Ritchie County each had a single for the North.

Game 2, a 2-1 South win, saw Ripley’s Darby Petersen hit a double and drove in the North run to take North MVP honors, while Lamp had a single.

In Game 3, a 4-4 tie after five innings, Ritchie’s Kenna DeLancey had a single as did Lamp, while Ripley’s Kelsey Moore contributed a RBI single and scored a run.

Lamp finished 3-for-4 overall at the plate for the day.
