South girls third at TRAC meet
MINERAL WELLS – Parkersburg South’s Ally McCulley finished 10th overall with a time of 20 minutes and 53 seconds here Wednesday at the Wood County 4-H Camp on Butcher Bend Road during the Two Rivers Athletic Conference cross country meet.
No other Parkersburg South boy or girl garnered top 10 individual honors.
Amelia Paladino of University topped the field with a clocking of 18:29, but the Hawks had to settle for runner-up team honors behind Morgantown, 29-35. Parkersburg South’s girls finished third in the six-team conference championship with 66 points.
Patriot Allison Currey (20:55) just missed out on a top 10 finish and garnered 11th place. Teammates Danielle Lockhart (12th, 21:32), Rachel Teter (17th, 23:07), Seanna Johnson (18th, 23:10) and Madison Edwards (22nd, 23:33) comprised the Patriots’ team scorers.
University teammates Seth Edwards and Andrew Paladino had a race for the ages as the Hawks rolled to a 19-59 team championship versus runner-up Morgantown. Both runners finished in 16 minutes and 27 seconds, but Edwards nipped Paladino by four-tenths of a second to capture the individual TRAC crown.
Parkersburg South, which finished sixth behind Brooke at 138-145, only had one runner finish in the top 25 – Alex Kirk (24th, 18:56).
